Detect an object from darkness…
Are you tired of finding something from large mass of objects in darkness using a torchlight? Are there any means to notify people with diminishing visual perception about an object that they need to acquire from smaller or larger heaps of objects? Are there ways to alert the people working in underground mines about the presence of a mineral, rather than going on digging deeper and costing their own life? Obviously yes. Here is an intelligent version of the torchlight, which could serve these purposes. Normally, it is very infeasible for a person to look for something with extreme patience and attentiveness. It becomes a great sorrow, when a specific entity has to be searched from darkness!!! The intelligent torchlight from five Indian inventors steals the limelight in this context. What makes the torchlight intelligent? It is the ability to capture the surrounding and notify the user about the presence or absence of the object that he or she is seeking for. But how? Initially, when switching on the torch light, the user provides the option of what he/she needs to acquire. Looking in the dark might seem difficult for human eyes. But it is not tough for a high-resolution (HR) camera to capture the video in dark. Hence, the intelligent torch has a built-in smart HR video acquisition unit that captures the surroundings. Now, the video frames are ready. The objects in the video frames then undergo segmentation and the objects are localized using a video processing unit. Here comes the main entity of the intelligent torchlight- the deep classifier. This classifier detects the object of user’s interest from the rest of the results of video processing unit. So, how the presence or absence of object be notified to the user? Through an LED light in the torch light emitting green, when the object is identified. Else, the LED will be emitting a red light. Hence, the intelligent torchlight is yet another technical advancement, easing up human living. Similar inventions, which specifically support the physically-challenged, are most welcome from future inventors.
