The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kumaracoil, Tamil Nadu has aimed to bring together academic scientists, leading engineers, industry researchers and scholar students to exchange and share their innovative ideas and research results about the technical and technology aspects of Emerging Technologies in Engineering and Applied Sciences and the resultant is the organization of a Two-day International Conference on Emerging Technologies in Engineering and Applied Sciences (ICETEAS-2023) on 12th & 13th of April 2023. Mr. M. Sathish Anto, Assistant General Manager (Project Planning), Tata Projects Limited, ISRO-2 Mahendragiri, being invited as one of the three eminent chief guests, motivated the participants to implement their research ideas for the betterment of human society. In addition, the second dignitary Mr. Biji Prathap, General Manager, BSNL Ltd, Tirunelveli BA & Nagercoil BA has shared the technological advancements that he has come across over the past three decades, along with their scope in different years, and stirred up young minds to do research in emerging tech. Dr. M. K. C. Nair, holding the positions as the former vice chancellor of Kerala Medical University, Director NIMS- Spectrum- CDRC, NIMS Medicity, Neyyattinkara and Member, Board of Management, NICHE also graced the occasion. The conference received a good response from wide spectrum of scholars and researchers from India and other countries. There were invited talks by Dr. K. Hariharan, Professor, Department of ECE, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai on “Recent Trends in IoT”. and Dr. P. Kannan, Professor & Head (PG), Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Technology, Jigjiga University, Ethiopia on “Challenges in RF System Design”. Dr. M. Mary Synthuja Jain Preetha, Associate professor, Department of ECE, NICHE was honored by the chief guest for being granted a patent on ‘Portable Solar Tree’. A total of 71 papers were selected for oral presentations. Best paper awards were constituted to recognize the best paper contributions received in various tracks for the event. The award based on general quality, originality, contributions, subject matter and timeliness was offered to six best papers in the conference.
